Hearing connects us with others and the world around us. Once we understand your hearing and communication needs, we can begin to provide an individualized patient experience to help you hear your best.

Hearing Evaluations

A full diagnostic hearing evaluation is the first step to take when determining your communication and listening needs. Following testing, we will review the results and discuss recommendations and treatment options based upon lifestyle and communication needs. If hearing aids are recommended, we will discuss the different hearing aid styles and technology options that would best fit your needs and improve your quality of life.

Tinnitus Assessments

Tinnitus is the perception of sound that does not have an external source. Most individuals with tinnitus describe it as a ringing sound, but others have reported a roaring or buzzing sound. Approximately 25% of adults have some degree of tinnitus, with the incidence increasing with age. Many cases of tinnitus accompany hearing loss; however, this is not always the case.
Dr. Chow has extensive experience successfully treating tinnitus in individuals with and without hearing loss. She first became interested in tinnitus while treating Veterans with severe debilitating tinnitus at the VA hospital in Madison, WI. She continued to pursue research studying the underlying mechanisms involved in tinnitus, working with Dr. Robert Fettiplace, Dr. Donata Oertel, and Dr. Samuel Gubbels at the University of Wisconsin-Madison while pursuing her PhD in auditory neuroscience. Dr. Chow has a unique understanding of the auditory circuits and pathways, allowing her to customize thoughtful treatment strategies for all her patients.

Please note, we collect $75 at the time of your hearing/tinnitus evaluation to cover any copays, coinsurance and/or deductible you might be responsible for. If your insurance covers these services, this will be reimbursed to you.
