I booked this appointment for my dad. He was originally issued hearing aids about five years as a part of a federal grant due to work place hearing damage. His hearing aids spent far more time in a drawer, than in his ears. He was to the point where he could no longer hear any of his grandchildren, when his children were talking we had to lower our voices many octaves and be directly looking at him for confirmation of his understanding. His hearing was a battle where everyone was suffering.
In the minutes after his appointment with Dr. Chow, my parents called. My mom was in tears of joy. My dad exclaimed that he had NEVER been with a more thorough provider. He felt listened to, respected and cared for in every aspect of his appointment. Dr. Chow truly took the time to listen to his needs and lifestyle (and desired activities) to fit him for the perfect set.
Now, a few months later- I do not see him WITHOUT his hearing aids. Just last weekend, our family was out for dinner in a busy restaurant. I looked over and Dad was having a conversation with my six-year-old. I was in a state of awe. Six months ago, we would have never gone to a restaurant with him because of the background noise. Six months ago, he wouldn't talk WITH my child, but at him. Needless to say, Dr. Chow matched a product that is comfortable and functional, and most importantly in his ears. Our whole family benefits from his experience. Thank you!

Dr. Chow is amazing. Previously I had been told I had mild hearing loss but it wasn't worth it to get hearing aids. I was evaluated by Dr. Chow thoroughly and she recommended getting hearing aids if it would improve my quality of life. Who doesn't want that? She explained also that even though my loss was mild, it was better to act now to preserve my brain's ability to process sound before it got more severe, and this would improve my prognosis moving forwards. I felt informed and empowered to make an educated decision, and she also pushed to get my hearing aids covered by insurance (which they were), though I would still have had an option to return them if insurance had not covered them in the end. Dr. Chow is pleasant, professional, thorough, and thoughtful, and leads a well-run clinic. You cannot go wrong with The Hearing Place.

I had an excellent experience at The Hearing Place in Oak Park. Dr. Chow and Dr. Klink are both incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and enjoyable to work with. My hearing exam revealed that I do have some hearing loss, which they explained thoroughly and with care. Thanks to their guidance, I was able to get the help I needed—something my loved ones have appreciated just as much as I have! They’re also in-network with my insurance, which made the whole process seamless. I highly recommend them to anyone in the Oak Park area seeking top-notch hearing care.

I have worked with the Hearing Place for more than 5 years and I am on my second pair. It's a very professional, friendly and helpful practice. Thorough exams and Real-Ear Measurement programming makes sure that the the hearing aids are calibrated to the physical structure of your ear and hearing loss profile.
CAA's flexible and extended try before you buy program really helped me to realize the value of hearing aids and helped me to pick the right hearing aids based on my activity level and specific needs. Dr Chow understands the natural reluctance to buying hearing aids and the investment they represent and there is no pressure to purchase or upselling.
Available third party no-interest payment plans were very helpful in paying for the hearing aids over time. Follow up for occasional cleaning and adjustments is provided and encouraged. I have happily referred a number of friends to CAA and they have all been highly satisfied.

This spring I hear the birds! I also hear the music at the symphony, the dialog in plays, and conversations with friends in restaurants. I'm SO glad I finally got hearing aids at The Hearing Place. First time here and I’m glad I was able to come here!
I’ve had history of having my ears blocked due to excessive ear wax production and small ear canals so I go professionally to get my ears cleaned. However, I decided to wait it out till the last second. Long story short, my ears got clogged and had to last minute find a place. Luckily, the hearing place had availability on the same day in the afternoon (and was affordable).
Dr. Chow was very knowledgeable. As a healthcare worker myself, she definitely knew what she was talking about and was very professional.
I would skip the hearing tests if you know what you’re here for and just get the procedure you need.

My elderly mom came to live with us from Boston. She had a lot of trouble with her hearing aid, so we came to The Hearing Place. Dr. Chow was very knowledgeable and professional. She did an amazing job identifying the issue with the device. Dr. Chow was very kind and patient with my mom. The office visit went very well. Dr. Chow was very attentive and professional. My previous hearing aids were from Costco. These are much better and do more. I definitely recommend The Hearing Place to anyone needing hearing aids!

Dr. Chow and the staff at The Hearing Place are excellent! I first met Cyndie at a safety and health conference. After speaking with her, I made an appointment for a visit. She was extremely professional, explained the whole process and answered all questions. The facility is modern with state-of-the-art equipment and is VERY clean. I completed the process and was able to get custom fitted hearing protection devices to wear at job sites. They have held up great, even in harsh conditions, and have definitely helped reduce noise levels that could have adverse effects on my hearing. If you want to have your hearing checked by a professional service or need hearing protection services for your workforce, this is the place.

Dr. Chow was very helpful in explaining the available hearing aide options and their different benefits. I've been wearing hearing aides for many years and we quickly worked together to find what option would be best for me. As an independent audiologist Dr. Chow was able to offer several different hearing aide options and help me understand the differences. Sandi at the front desk helped me understand all the forms that were necessary as a new client and was always very friendly to me. Good audiologists are hard to find and the Hearing Place is a great place to get the hearing help you need.

My 98-year-old mother needed hearings aids. Ms. Chow and her staff were extremely knowledgeable and were completely patient with her. The hearing aids have been a success! I highly recommend The Hearing Place.

Dr. Cyndie is fantastic. I scheduled an appointment after experiencing a dull ear pain in both my ears which became especially painful when flying. At her office, she was able to run some middle ear tests and determine the cause of the problem. She then provided recommendations which helped alleviate the pain and made flying painless again.

My aunt struggled to communicate with our family for years. We’d always have to raise our voices, repeat ourselves; making conversation anything but enjoyable. Dr. Cyndie did an amazing job helping my aunt hear us again. My aunt is not the easiest person to work with; however, Dr. Cyndie was incredibly patient and took the time to listen to all of her concern. She was very kind, never rushed, as she addressed each of her concerns one by one. My aunt needed several appointments before she was finally satisfied and comfortable with her hearing aids. Now she wishes she saw her years ago (we do too). Dr. Cyndie truly is one of a kind and gave our family the ability to converse with one another easily which we will always be grateful for.

I had a really good experience with Dr. Cyndie. I was nervous at first coming in because I’ve noticed my hearing loss years ago but never got it checked out. But when I entered the office, I was warmly greeted by the receptionist and, after completing some initial paperwork, immediately seen by Dr. Cyndie. She kindly asked what brought me in and did not make me feel bad that I didn’t get my hearing tested sooner. In fact, she put me at ease by casually saying she’d check my ears then run some tests. She took the time to explain what each test would measure, warn me before putting in or taking out test equipment from my ears, and describe the results in terms of normal hearing compared to hearing loss that I could understand. I felt very comfortable during the entire testing process, and it was clear to me that Dr. Cyndie was truly concerned about treating my hearing loss. I highly recommend coming to CAA The Hearing Place for hearing loss needs.

I needed hearing aids, per my wife, so I started to shop around. After comparing prices and asking friends I went to CAA the Hearing Place and spoke to Dr. Chow. I found Dr. Chow to be professional and informative. We talked about all the options and prices. I love Costco and I was really surprised to find that Dr. Chow's price was cheaper than Costco's. There is a learning curve to first time users and Dr. Chow was accessible and worked with me until I was satisfied. After a few visits for adjustments and fine tuning I'm amazed at how well I can hear, I never knew what I was missing.
