We know how important hearing is in our everyday lives and strive to motivate everyone to protect the hearing they have, especially individuals exposed to hazardous noise. We recognize that the quality of employee training is KEY to successful implementation and safety. Each year we create updated, polished programs using power point and/or overheads to maintain employee interest. Our equipment can be set up in any room or area to fit your educational needs.
CAOHC Occupational Hearing Conservationist Course
OHC 3-Day Initial Certification & OHC 1-Day Refresher:
This 3-day occupational hearing conservationist (OHC) course is approved by the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC). This 20-hour initial certification training is designed to train and inform personnel implementing or supervising hearing conservation programs in addition to conducting hearing testing. The 3-day OHC course encompasses many areas of hearing conservation including:
- History of noise regulation
- Anatomy and physiology of the auditory system
- Hearing and physics of sound
- Otoscopy (visual ear evaluation)
- Hearing testing using manual and automatic audiometers
- Calibration
- Noise measurement and control
- Standard threshold shift identification and follow-up
- Hearing protection attenuation and fit
- Employee education and training
- Hearing loss prevention strategies
- Recordkeeping
- OSHA and MSHA standards
The 1 day refresher course is held on the second day of the 3-day training course. This refresher will review your current knowledge while updating you on new regulations and technology.
Following successful completion of the course and national exam, you will be eligible for certification from the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation.
